FIVE STAR CELTS SINK SEAGULLS...

The Celts got back to winning ways and how with a five goal demolition of Colwyn Bay that takes them up to seventh in the Unibond League Division One table.

A hat-trick from Mick Midwood gave the Celts a three goal lead before Andy Watson and Roy Stammar weighed in to make it 5-0.

The first came after just six minutes when Midwood latched onto a through ball from Andy Shields to finish sweetly with his right foot.

Just after the break on 51 minutes the big frontman added to his tally when he pounced on a parried shot from Amjad Iqbal to head home from close range.

The matchball clincher came on 15 minutes later when he drilled the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.

A smart far post volley from Andy Watson made it 4-0 on 74 minutes. Roy Stammar put the seal on a fantastic performance from the Celts with an excellent mazy run and finish five minutes from time.

The result leaves the Celts just ten points off the league leaders Hyde United but with four games in hand.

Next Saturday it's a trip to the Lake District for Lee Sinnott's side as they face bottom of the table Kendal Town
