Some time
ago our club was invited to join other local Rotary clubs in a tree planting
exercise to mark the Millennium Square in the centre of Leeds.
On Friday 18th May, a
plaque dedication and ceremonial shovelling was carried out by the Lord Mayor
Councillor Bernard Atha accompanied by one of his many Lady Mayoresses, the
lovely Sue Reddington.....(both members of the Leeds club) and watched by lots
of local Rotarians and our District Governor John Stansfield.
A reception in the
Civic Hall, hosted by the Lord Mayor, nicely rounded off an enjoyable occasion.
Our pictures show Pudsey Rotarians Tony Gadsby, Les Bloom and Derek Rhodes
admiring the plaque and the Lord Mayor, shovel in hand.
