Club Lunch to Celebrate our Golden
Jubilee 20th June 2002
We met at lunchtime on
the 20th June 2002. Almost exactly 50 years on from the original inaugural
lunch, the occasion was well supported by our members and those from other
clubs and our own past members.
Time for a chat
with old friends before the meal.
After an excellent introduction by President Ian, three
of our Past Presidents spoke in turn covering 50 years of memories. Rtn Philip
Gaunt recalled the 50s and 60s, then Rtn Bill Powell remembered the 90s and
finally Rtn Geoff Barton filled in the gaps with echoes of the 70s and 80s. All
this time travel in fifteen minutes. And so with a few words from Assistant
District Governor Bernard Burke it was time to make our farewells....
Asst.D.G. Bernard Burke chats to President Elect Chris
Johnson-Green.
