Night out at Cassical Fantasia
7th Sept 2002

The night sky was alight with fireworks skilfully choreographed to match the triumphant conclusion of the 1812 Overture. The Northern Ballet Theatre Concert Orchestra Classical Music Concert and Firework Display in the awesome setting of Kirkstall Abbey at night, was the culmination of the Leeds City Council Leisure Services programme of free concerts. Thousands of people relaxed at the side of the river Aire to listen to the music, to the accompaniment of the occasional passing train and jets in and out of Leeds Bradford Airport.

Shirley and Malcolm Healey, Chris and Mary Johnson-Green were well into the snacks and wine, but managed to smile mid chew for Mr. Click

.

Enjoying the moment are Paul and Denise Hanson and the recumbent Mr. Lythe.

When Stanley’s chair collapsed with a loud crack it turned a few heads. Most people found it funny, even hilarious. To his credit, so did Stanley, whose positive outlook never fails him. Several days later he reports "no harm done".

Also tucking in are Christine and Ian Featherstone, Molly Lythe, Jennie Walker, and Cath Keighley
