Rotary Club of Pudsey news and whats going on

Silent Auction
5th October 2002
Thanks to the generosity or Pudsey Rotarians and their friends, who provided masses of high quality goods to be auctioned, the International Committee will be able to direct £838.00 to Hope and Homes for children and other Rotary charities.

The event started at 2 p.m. and the activity and bids increased as the time sped towards the 4 o'clock bell.

The star item, donated by David Hainsworth, a weeks use of his luxury apartment in Nerja, Spain, went for a bargain price of £220.00.

There were minor triumphs and disappointments as bid offers either won or just lost, but we all went away happily clutching our bargains.

International Chairman David Sutcliffe said, "Getting the public to support these events is always dicey, but no one could complain about this turnout. The publicity seems to have worked with posters around town, two newspaper mentions and at least two radio stations ran the news"
