The Annual Craft Fayre, in its 5th year, coincided as usual with the
switch on of Pudsey Lights. Despite one or two hiccups on the way, our
first year in charge, having taken over responsibility from the now
defunct Trinity Men, went very well. All the available (66) stalls were
‘sold’ long ago and the main hall of the Leisure Centre was awash with
hand made stuff designed to get the long pockets unzipped in time for
Christmas gift buying. Outside, the rain pelted down for most of the day
but managed to ease off in time for the parade and the fireworks. The
switch on was done this time by a local boy made good - actor from the
Hollyoaks soap, Lee “Bombhead” Otway.

Leaving Chris Johnson-Green
in charge of the Tombola appears to be a bad idea as he looks to heaven for
help as the pace
heats up. |
The whole event raised £1,100 for local charities. £400 has been
allocated to Martin House and the rest put on one side to fund ‘Kids
Out’ for Milestone Special School next June and the local charity pot.
